QuantDesk overview
What QuantDesk tests, who can use it, and how a strategy's test page is laid out.
QuantDesk tests a strategy before real capital flows. It shows how good the strategy is in numbers, whether its edge holds outside the sample, what can happen in future paths, how it holds up at a prop firm and what is left after costs.
Access
| What | From which plan |
|---|---|
| Test GMJD strategies from the Library | Launchpad |
| Prop Firm Analysis with GMJD strategies | Launchpad |
| Upload and test your own strategies | Trader |
| Portfolio Builder and saved portfolios | Trader |
You open QuantDesk through the QuantDesk entry in the dashboard sidebar. QuantDesk has its own sidebar with three entries: Dashboard, Portfolio Builder and Prop-Firm-Analyse. A link at the top takes you back to the GMJD dashboard.
The platform's interface is in German. This section names tabs and buttons as they appear on screen and explains them in English.
The dashboard
The QuantDesk dashboard is your starting point. It holds:
- the field for uploading your own strategy (from Trader),
- Meine Strategien (my strategies) with your imports, to open, rename and delete,
- your saved portfolios from the Portfolio Builder,
- a prompt that lets you continue with the strategy you opened last.
You open GMJD strategies from the Library. Clicking a card takes you straight to its test page.
A strategy's test page
The header shows name, market, period and number of trades, plus three values: the result, the stability from the Stability Check and when it was calculated. A GMJD strategy is precalculated and appears instantly. Your own strategy is calculated the first time you open it, and the page fills in once the test is done.
A bar with six tabs sits at the bottom edge:
| Tab | Question | More |
|---|---|---|
| Überblick (overview) | How good is the strategy in numbers? | Metrics and review |
| Prüfung (review) | Is the edge real or overfitted? | Metrics and review |
| Stresstest | What can happen in future paths? | Stress test |
| Walk-Forward | What is left after the split? | Walk-forward |
| Funding | How does the strategy hold up at a prop firm? | Funding and Prop Firm Analysis |
| Kosten (costs) | What is left after commission, spread, slippage and swap? | Costs |
The header bar
Above the tabs sit three switches that apply to the whole page:
- $ / % shows amounts in the strategy's currency or as a percentage of starting capital.
- Privat (private) hides every money value, including on axes and tooltips. Sharpe, profit factor, win rate and frequencies stay visible. That way you can show an analysis without revealing amounts.
- Kosten (costs) shows whether a cost preset is active and takes you to the Kosten tab.
Recalculating
Many controls recalculate the strategy with your values, such as the Monte Carlo runs or the split in the walk-forward. The header then says it was calculated with your values until you reset. All calculation happens on the server; no number is produced in the browser.
What QuantDesk does not claim
- No pass mark. The walk-forward shows how much is left outside the sample. QuantDesk does not award a seal that declares a strategy good.
- No forecast. The stress test draws from the strategy's own history. What never happened there does not happen in the paths either.
- Only as good as the export. QuantDesk calculates with the trades the export contains. If costs or trades are missing, they are missing from the result too.
