Costs
The cost bar with presets per broker, and the comparison with and without costs.
A backtest without costs shows more than trading leaves you with. The Kosten (costs) tab adds commission, spread, slippage and swap to the analysis.
The cost bar
The controls at the top come in this order:
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Preset | A broker's default values |
| Paar and Instrumenttyp | Which instrument the preset's row applies to |
| Commission | Depending on the preset, in basis points or per contract |
| Spread | In points, pips or basis points |
| Slippage | Per contract |
| Swap | Per lot and night, separately for long and short |
The calculation uses the row as it stands in the preset. If a preset has no row for the instrument, its button is dimmed and states the reason when clicked.
With Kosten an (costs on) and Anwenden (apply), QuantDesk recalculates every tab with the chosen preset, except Funding. The page header then shows that costs are active, and the result at the top is after costs.
The comparison
Below that, every case is listed: without costs and per preset. For each case you see the deduction, the result, profit factor, win rate and the cost per trade. Gold is what remains, blue the deduction. Clicking a row opens its values and four metrics compared with the run without costs.
If QuantDesk does not calculate with a preset, the reason appears as a sentence.
What to watch for
- If your TradingView export already includes costs, a preset counts them a second time.
- The presets are defaults, not your broker's statement. If your conditions differ, pick the preset that comes closest.
