Pre-Market
The page before the session, with risk budget per account, instrument cards, news and daily rules.
The Pre-Market page prepares the trading day. It answers how much you may risk today, how many contracts that is and what is coming up today.
Risk budget
The daily risk budget is the smallest of three values:
- 10 % of the maximum drawdown from your account's rule set,
- 35 % of your daily loss limit,
- the average of your three best trading days from the last 20 sessions.
The smallest value determines how much you risk at most today. From it follow the risk per trade (the budget divided by three, so you have at least three attempts) and the daily target (twice the budget).
Without a rule set the first value is missing. Without a rule set and without three winning days there is no budget, and the page says so.
Instrument cards
For the micro futures on the S&P 500, Nasdaq, Dow and gold you enter the day's values: the ATR over seven days, the current daily range and the previous day's volume point of control. The card shows:
- Vol%, today's range relative to the ATR,
- the projection up and down,
- the stop per contract in dollars,
- the maximum number of contracts for today.
The calculation happens on the server after a short pause in your typing.
News
A calendar shows the day's economic events. It comes from Forex Factory. If the source is currently limiting requests, the page tells you when to try again.
Daily rules
A list of fixed rules to tick off before the session, such as never more contracts than the calculated maximum and a break after three losses in a row. Limits and target come from the account's rule set.
The page's formulas follow a fixed method for daily risk. They are a planning tool and not a recommendation for how much you should trade.
