Journal overview
Your trading log. Import trades, analyse them by strategy, symbol and period, and keep an eye on prop accounts.
The Journal records what you trade. It imports your trades, sorts them by account, strategy, symbol and period, and shows you where you stand. For prop accounts it also shows how far you are from the firm's rules.
Access
The Journal is part of the Premium plan. You open it through the Journal entry in the dashboard sidebar. It has its own sidebar, and a link at the top takes you back to the dashboard.
The pages
| Page | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | Balance, metrics and calendar of an account or a group, plus rule buffer, loss limit and roadmap for prop accounts |
| Insights | Statistics per strategy, symbol, day, month and year, plus Strategy Intelligence with the bad cases per strategy |
| Journal | The list of your trades, with import, export and manual entry of single trades |
| Accounts | Your accounts, to create and edit them |
| Pre-Market | Risk budget, instruments and daily rules before the session |
At the top right you choose which account the pages show, or a group of all accounts in the same currency. There you also create a new one through Konto hinzufügen (add account).
How to start
- Create an account. Your own capital or a prop account with firm and account model. See Accounts and prop rules.
- Import trades. Upload the CSV export from your broker or platform. See Trade import.
- Analyse. Dashboard, Insights and, for prop accounts, the roadmap to the profit target.
Where the numbers come from
Our analysis service calculates every metric, buffer and limit on the server. The Journal displays them and calculates nothing in the browser.
The prop firm rules come from the same research as the other prop firm tools. Each rule is mapped from the firm's source. Minimum days and deadlines only appear where the firm states them explicitly. Where it does not, the Journal says so.
Limits
- As complete as your import. The Journal calculates with the trades you import or enter. Anything missing is missing from the buffer too.
- Not the firm's statement. Rule buffer and loss limit show how the rules work according to our research. What counts is what your firm calculates.
