Board and calendar

The Main Board and project boards, cards with assignees, due dates and checklists, private projects and the calendar.

A team's Übersicht (overview) is its board. It is the start page of the team area, and the lists reach down to the bottom edge.

Several boards

A team runs several boards:

  • Main Board. It appears when you open the team, meant for the weekly meeting.
  • Project boards. One board per project.

You switch through the menu on the Board tab. A link to a board or a card opens exactly that.

Lists

Every board has four fixed lists: Eingang (inbox), Offen (open), In Arbeit (in progress) and Erledigt (done). Owners and admins can add their own lists. A list can have a work-in-progress limit. It is a hint and not a lock: moving cards still works, the list only shows that it is full.

Cards

Cards sit in lists and move between them. A card's status follows its list. A card carries:

  • Labels as coloured bars. One click expands them to text for the whole board.
  • Priority as a symbol at the start of the line: urgent, high, medium or low.
  • Due date with a clock. The tick next to it marks the card as done and moves it to Erledigt.
  • Assignees as avatars. You add someone with the plus.
  • Badges for description, comments, attachments and checklist.

You rename a card in place. The other actions are in the card's menu.

Who may do what

WhatWho
Read, create, move and comment on cards, tick off checklists, take over a card, upload attachmentsevery member
Edit, archive and restore a cardwhoever created it, owners and admins
Delete a cardowners and admins
Manage lists and labelsowners and admins
Create a project for the whole teamowners and admins

So every member may mark cards as done and move them, including other people's cards.

The Meine Karten (my cards) filter shows only the cards assigned to you and states their number. The search finds cards across the whole board.

Private projects

A project can be private, for example a management project that not everyone should see.

  • Who sees it: the selected members, whoever set it up, and always the owner. Everyone else does not see it at all.
  • Who may create one: owners and admins, and members who get this right from an owner or admin.
  • How to recognise it: by the Privat label.

When creating it, you tick the members in a list. Later you change this in the menu under Wer es sieht (who sees it).

Calendar

The calendar is a second view of the overview and not a page of its own. It shows the same cards with the same filters and rights as the board, plus the team's events.

  • One month as a grid, Monday first, today outlined in gold.
  • Due cards sit on their day, overdue ones with a rose-coloured edge. Cards without a date are listed on the right.
  • You pin a card to a day by dragging it there or through its menu. That changes its due date, so only someone who may edit the card can do it.
  • The + on a day creates a card due on that day, or an event.

Workflows

Under Workflows you build roadmaps. Tasks sit in them as connected steps, so a longer project becomes visible as a sequence.
